Fifteen years after the release of their eponymous debut album, Lamb return with the existential ‘Five’.
In the summer of 2009 Andy Barlow and his longtime friend and musical partner, Lou Rhodes reformed Lamb, the band they started 15 years ago, to play a handful of festival dates, including The Big Chill, Glastonbury and Portugal’s Festival Marés Vivas. To say the reunion was a success would be a gross understatement. By January of 2010, Lamb had played 33 shows to hundreds of thousands of fans in 29 different countries.
A reflective conversation followed, as Lou recalls, “When Andy said ‘the time feels right to make a new album’ I was thinking exactly the same thing and I was rendered speechless. After such a big break and the fact that we’d both gone off and done solo records and tours, he was right – it was the right time.”
I truly felt Lamb would come together again when there was something new to say.” Thankfully, that time has come.
